Abstract
The advancement of technology and the rapid development of various applications have fostered significant growth in mobile applications usage. Among these, travel applications have grown significantly on a global scale, assisting in the seamless operation and recovery of tourism activities following the epidemic. Many travellers rely on travel applications during their trips, as these applications effectively consolidate multiple tourism-related functions into a single platform, thereby facilitating smoother communication and interactions within the tourism industry. As a result, it was necessary to investigate the elements influencing user engagement and long-term usage intentions for travel applications. In this research, S-O-R theory was applied as theoretical framework within variables user interface, relative advantages, compatibility and perceived incentives which influence user engagement and continuance usage intention towards travel applications. In addition, data from 371 respondents with prior experience in using travel applications will be collected and analysed using PLS-SEM. These findings offer insightful information for researchers, managers, developers and policymakers in the travel industry, thereby helping to enhance user experience and satisfaction with travel applications.
