Abstract

In today's digital era, technology plays a significant role in shaping interpersonal communication and social dynamics within families. With the rise of smartphones and online platforms, family members—especially children—are increasingly exposed to fragmented and superficial communication, which can weaken emotional bonds. This project aims to address this challenge by designing and developing a mobile application tailored specifically for family interaction. The app will serve as a centralized platform combining essential features such as a shared calendar for coordinating family schedules, a secure photo gallery for storing memories, real-time messaging to foster connection, location sharing for member safety, event creation, and reminders to help with daily chores and prevent excessive mobile phone use. Moreover, Natural Language Processing-based sentiment analysis will be integrated to interpret emotions in text messages. The development process will follow the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) model to ensure systematic implementation. Flutter and Dart will be used as the development framework and programming language, respectively. User-centred design principles will guide the interface and feature set, ensuring accessibility for both tech-savvy and less experienced users. The broader goal is not only to develop an app but also to contribute to the field of digital parenting and family cohesion through technology.
