Abstract
This project is conducted in the field of health informatics and mobile application development, with a focus on designing a fitness and health application for tailored for elderly users. For the existing fitness and health apps such as MyFitnessPal, Fitbod, Fitbit, and OKOK International, can be characterized by such limitations as complicated and non-user-friendly interface, the use of paid subscriptions or other external devices, insufficient support of caregivers and the lack of motivation strategies that could be used by seniors. These failures demonstrate the criticality of a solution that puts the elderly population in the first place, with both accessibility, safety and long-term engagement. The proposed system will use a user-centred approach to this issue, based on the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) featuring prototyping. Some of the features that are integrated into the application include large fonts, voice assistance, simple navigation, emergency SOS button, caregiver monitoring and health simplified tracking. Progress reporting, milestones and positive reinforcement will be used in the system. The research process will be conducted in the form of requirement analysis, interface prototyping, Expo and Firebase development and the evaluation process are conducted through the iterative process with the involvement of the user to confirm the usability. It is expected that the results will be the intuitive, safe and reliable application that will enable the elderly users to be able to begin living healthier lifestyles, stay independent and improve their attachment with the caregivers and family members. Finally, this research paper also offers a viable and long-term remedy of enhancing management of elderly health with the help of mobile technologies.
