Abstract
Online grocery platforms have grown rapidly, but many systems still face inventory management issues when handling perishable goods. Common problems include the lack of expiry-aware stock deduction, spoilage and damage logging, predictive restocking support, and efficient bulk inventory updates. These issues may lead to inaccurate stock records, overstocking, stockouts, expired products, and food waste. This project developed a web-based integrated e-commerce inventory system for small and medium-sized grocery businesses. The system includes standard e-commerce functions such as user authentication, product browsing, cart management, checkout, and order management. It also provides inventory-focused features, including First-Expired-First-Out (FEFO) batch deduction, spoilage logging, bulk CSV upload, stock movement tracking, financial reporting, and predictive restocking recommendations. The system was implemented using Next.js, Spring Boot, and MySQL, with Agile Scrum adopted as the development methodology. The predictive restocking algorithm considers demand momentum, demand variability, shelf life, and spoilage risk to support better inventory decisions. System testing was conducted across major modules, and all documented test cases passed successfully.
