    Abstract

This study investigates the financial and marketing determinants influencing continuous intention to use e-wallets among university students at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Kampar. Despite the increase in the adoption of e-wallets, there is concern over long-term usage. The authors focus on such factors as social influence, trust, the quality of information, eco-friendly practices disclosure and digital financial literacy and the mediating variable is financial well-being. Based on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 (UTAUT2), a quantitative research design was followed. Structured questionnaires were used to collect data on 386 respondents and analysed in SPSS and SmartPLS. The findings indicate that trust, information quality, and digital financial literacy significantly influence continuous intention to use e-wallet services, while social influence and eco-friendly practices disclosure are not significant. Digital financial literacy also significantly affects financial well-being; however, the mediating effect of financial well-being is not supported. In general, this research can contribute to a more comprehensive insight into the post-adoption behaviour of digital payment systems and offer valuable guidance to fintech firms and lawmakers in improving user retention and encouraging the sustainable use of e-wallets in Malaysia.
