    Abstract

    Employees may be motivated by different personality traits. Core self-evaluation (CSE) is found to influence employees‘ motivation in the workplace. The main objective for this study is to determine whether CSE has significant influence on employees‘ motivation in continuing higher education. The primary data of this study was gathered by distributing 200 survey questionnaires to respective respondent at Ipoh, Perak area. The Cronbach‘s Alpha Reliability test was conducted on every constructs which displayed high reliability results. Pearson Correlation Coefficient and Multiple Linear Regression Analysis were conducted in this study to examine the independent variables (i.e. self-esteem, generalized self-efficacy, locus of control, and neuroticism). The four independent variables showed a significant relationship on employees‘ motivation in continuing education. Independent Sample T-test and One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) were used to test demographic variable (i.e. gender differences) and general information (i.e. length of service, and category of employment) of respondents against the dependent variable (i.e. employees‘ motivation in continuing education). The discussion of the findings, implications of the study, limitations of the study and recommendation for future research are discussed in the end of the study.
