Abstract
This study examines why digital banking adoption in Malaysia lags at only 50% despite over 90% public awareness. Using a survey of 197 Malaysian users across five regions, the research tested five factors namely: Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Ease of Use, Effort Expectancy, Facilitating Conditions, and Trust against the TAM and UTAUT2 frameworks. The OLS regression model explained 89.3% of adoption variance, finding that Perceived Ease of Use is the strongest driver, followed by Facilitating Conditions and Perceived Usefulness. Effort Expectancy and Trust were not statistically significant. The study recommends that digital banks prioritize user-friendly interfaces and robust infrastructure support to boost adoption and achieve Malaysia's financial inclusion goals.
