Abstract
This study investigates the factors influencing career adaptability (CA) among 388 university students in Malaysia. Moreover, this study is grounded in Career Construction Theory (CCT) and Social Cognitive Career Theory (SCCT), the research examines the impact of Career Engagement (CE), Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy (CDMSE), Proactive Personality (PP), and the Big Five Personality Traits (BFPT). This research adopts a quantitative approach, the results from Multiple Linear Regression revealed that the model explains 80.7% of the variance in CA. Findings indicate that CDMSE is the strongest predictor, followed by Career Engagement and Proactive Personality, which all shows a significant positive influence. Conversely, the Big Five Personality Traits overall showed a negative influence in the combined model. These results underscore the critical role of psychological confidence and active engagement over fixed traits, providing a foundation for higher education institutions to enhance graduate readiness through targeted career interventions. Keywords: Career Adaptability, Career Decision Making Self Efficacy, Career Engagement, Proactive Personality, Malaysia.
