Abstract
Despite growing worried about the environment's long-term sustainability, electric vehicle (EV) adoption remains low in Malaysia. This study investigates the elements that motivate Malaysian salaried workers' intentions towards purchasing electric automobiles, with an emphasis on charging infrastructure availability, price perception, environmental awareness, government support, and perceived value, which all impacts the purchase intention. Utilizing the Stimulus-OrganismResponse (SOR) model and Perceived Value Theory, the study implements a qualitative method that involves the distribution of a questionnaire that are structured online to Malaysian salaried employees aged 18 to 60 who have not yet acquired an electric vehicle. The findings will be evaluated with PLS-SEM via SmartPLS. Practically, the results assist policymakers and industry stakeholders design initiatives to encourage EV purchases and sustainable transportation in Malaysia.
