    Abstract

    Unauthorized vehicle entry and the illegal resale of parking permits are two major issues in university parking management that result in inefficiency, unfairness for registered users, and security vulnerabilities on campus. By designing and developing a full-stack IoT University Entry and Parking System (uPark) for automated visitor and vehicle authentication, this project tackles these problems through a cloud-integrated approach. A Raspberry Pi 4 Model B serves as the system's edge foundation, utilizing an MFRC522 RFID reader for authorized staff and students and a Logitech USB webcam for QR-code-based visitor authentication. Node-RED serves as the central logic engine, orchestrating the system and maintaining real-time synchronization with a Google Firebase backend (Cloud Firestore and Realtime Database). The system architecture is designed to be highly secure and scalable, enabling real-time anti-passback enforcement and remote hardware control through a native Flutter mobile application. The successful development of the functional prototype is documented in this final report. The system demonstrates the ability to read RFID tags, scan visitor QR codes, validate credentials against the cloud, and provide instant physical feedback through LED indicators. Additionally, the administrative dashboard allows for seamless user management and real-time remote camera control. By confirming the viability of the suggested solution to improve campus security and guarantee a more efficient and equitable parking environment, the successful implementation verifies the selected full-stack architecture.
