    Abstract

In an era marked by tumultuous transformations, education remains a pivotal pathway for humanity to navigate social upheavals, technological advancements, and global crises. This situation has shifted scholarly attention to the challenges of identifying and evaluating the effectiveness andquality improvement of higher education. The current study identified curriculum leadership as an essential factor in promoting university development and system improvement. The evaluation model focused on curriculum leadership based on its context, input, process, and product to identify the effectiveness and quality improvement of higher education. This model addressed the issue that China lacks in mature achievements in developing assessment tools for curriculum leadership. The present study adopted a quantitative analytical method to examine the context, input, process, and product of curriculum leadership at a private university in Sanya City, Hainan Province, China. Quota sampling was employed based on data from 512 valid questionnaires. Moreover, reliability, validity, confirmatory factor, and path analyses were used via AMOS 26.0 software to analyse the core elements of the four-dimensional structure of the model in higher education assessment, while validating significant sequential influences among these dimensions. The current study also provided in-depth conceptual connotations of curriculum leadership and its evaluative theoretical framework. From the perspective of curriculum leadership, an innovated, quality evaluation model for higher iii education was developed. Simultaneously, operable optimisation pathways were presented to address practical dilemmas in curriculum leadership construction.
